Archive for GSP Puppies

News & Updates

Our October Weimaraner litter was not to be…… It happens not to often but it happens all signs indicate pregnancy yet no puppies arrive.  We have had the vet check her over and found a slight uterine infection – She is now on antibiotics and hunting happily ( I almost think she would rather hunt than be pregnant!)

Our leaves have changed and now been blown from the trees so fall is on its way out.  We are avid deer hunters also so in between the trips out bird hunting – we also spend time sitting and waiting for the trophy buck to visit our tree stands .

We have an all silver smooth coated  litter due the beginning of December and a blue litter due the middle of December.  We are planning a blue litter for February 2012 also.  I have stated many times in both the blog and our website we are not BIG breeders.  I have a limited number of dogs I enjoy hunting and showing.  The wait for a pup can be about 6 months – We promise healthy well balanced pups who have been socialized and loved from birth being raised here in our home.  If we are unable to meet your request for a puppy within one year of you joining our waiting list we will refund your deposit.

We also have three German Short-hair pointers that I show two are living with my hunting partner and one is here with me.  We keep our GSP male at another location to prevent the risk of cross breeding.  We currently have a litter of GSP pups and I will post a few new pics later today they are three weeks old.  GSP’s are loving loyal dogs the differences between the breeds are subtle they do range out a bit further than a weimaraner in the field – they enjoy couch cuddles and Frisbee as much as the weimaraner – they can counter surf although most days I feel my weims have perfected this task and perhaps have trained the GSP in this activity – Our linage of GSP’s are from JEB’s Kennels and Johnson’s Kennels – both Jason & Roger have been very helpful with sharing training knowledge and advice with us.  Our Male Cody is from Johnson’s Kid Pepper who is the 2010 National UFTA Champion and Best of Breed GSP with UFTA.  Our Jeb’s Dory Hammer is from the “hammer” linage and is also pointed in UFTA She is an amazing hunter and works the bird field to perfection for me every time – many call and request to take Dory hunting throughout our season and beyond at the preserve!

Last but not least – I have taken a job 2nd shift its a great job with excellent pay and benefits the largest benefit being able to hunt almost everyday :)   The dogs are with someone 24-7 and there is always a warm fire for them to lay by :)   The only draw back is not seeing my amazing kids as much as I would like but morning breakfast time has become our social hour and we are all adjusting.  If you need to reach me by phone you can call anytime 6 am-2:30 PM m-f or on the weekends I am free 6A-9Pm Eastern standard time.  Email is a great way to reach me as I check my email often and answer them twice daily.

We hope you all enjoy the Michigan Fall hunting seasons it is the reason we stay here in this crappy economy – there is no place like Michigan for wildlife, beautiful scenery, & great beaches we have it all!
