This past weekend we traveled to the IABCA (International All Breed Canine Assoc.) show in Dayton Ohio. It was a great weekend for us. First we had our new junior handler Dakota Stapleton with us and my Kennel helper Kelsey Bechtol (who is working toward a degree in veterinary medicine) my amazing son Camden Gruszecki and Kelsey’s significant other Aaron Kilingbrock also rode along and were a big help with getting us food, carrying crates and dog walking – Camden also handled Owyheestar’s Feebie for one show in which she won a Best of Breed. The dogs we dog were all Blue weimaraners Owyheestar’s Feebie and Drehbar’s Breakin All The Rules (Tessa) along with Drehbar’s Dusty Roads (Buddy) our Blue Male – All three did very well with Buddy Taking three Best of Breed wins and all earned their International Champion Titles. We were delighted with the Judges opinions and scores the dogs received earning V1 ratings in the four shows. We enjoy the IABCA venue and are looking forward to three more shows this year in Michigan, Illinois, & Ohio.
In February will will be taking our Long Hair weimaraners Cali, Laska & Lenny to the UKC show and will post photos and results here on the blog on our other adventures. We plan to do an AKC show in March also. Showing our weimaraners is fun and we enjoy the socialization and hearing Judges opinions on our dogs – the judges opinions and the dogs willingness to work for us are key factors when choosing a mating pair. We feel it is important to meet the standard with our dogs and strive to better the breed.
I want to personally thank all of our facebook friends for your words of encouragement and congratulations they mean a great deal to us.
We wished the show photos of Buddy would have turned out better so this weekend he is getting a photo shoot with a photographer friend of mine because he truly is gorgeous
